What is IFOMC?

The IFOMC is the premier conference series for developing and promoting effective fishery monitoring programmes throughout the world, aiming to ensure sustainable marine resource management.

We are delighted to once again invite interested parties, and very much look forward to welcoming in person the international scientific and fishery monitoring community to discuss and improve aspects of one of the most challenging and dangerous jobs in natural resource management.

An extensive programme is being developed for IFOMC 2025.  In the interim we invite you to review the programs and the detail of the IFOMC 2023 conference held in beautiful Hobart, Tasmania within this site.  The 2023 conference covered the benefits of fishery monitoring programmes and ways to enhance observer safety and security through training, policing and legislation, as well as providing ample opportunities for socializing and networking .
